While actress Ana Cruz Kayne might be known as Barbieland’s Filipiniana-wearing Supreme Court Justice, she wasn’t the only Filipina Barbie that graced the screen.

In a recent Instagram post, Filipina-French beauty queen Julia Saubier pointed out her brief cameo in the hit movie, where she was spotted alongside titular star Margot Robbie

The model-actress’ appearance happened during the film’s introduction, where narrator Helen Mirren spoke about the iconic doll’s many careers and personas since its beginning. In her particular scene, Julia played the role of a Barbie doll released in 1971, which the film coined as “Hippie Barbie.”

“[I] didn’t think I’d be beside Margot Robbie so soon [emoji],” Julia wrote on her Instagram post. “[It was a] sick time on set on this [very] iconic film! Some of the greatest [are] on here, [and I’m] so [very] grateful to share the screen [emoji].”

Alongside the movie clip, Julia also shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps. In one photo, she stood among her screen partners who played several real-life Barbie dolls, including the best-selling Totally Hair Barbie from 1992. Julia stayed true to her character as she posed with a peace sign, sporting retro-inspired co-ords and tasseled corduroy accessories.

Beauty pageant enthusiasts might deem her as a familiar face, as Julia has already rocked the local pageant scene. In 2022, she landed in the Top 10 of Miss Universe Philippines 2022 alongside the likes of Celeste Cortesi and Michelle Dee, where she represented Albay. Julia even bagged the Best in National Costume award in a glimmering blue ensemble designed by Erjohn Dela Serna, which was an ode to Haliya, the Bicolana goddess of the moon.
