The angelic Jodi Sta. Maria is soon to be back on our screens, ready to raise hell as a mistreated wife in The Broken Marriage Vow. ABS-CBN Entertainment just dropped the upcoming teleserye's ominous teaser, which featured Jodi's character confronting her husband, played by Zanjoe Marudo, about his infidelity.
As seen in the 30-second clip, Jodi is rocking a wavy french bob as Dr. Jill Illustre, whose entire world is shaken when she catches her husband having an affair. Connie Macatuno, the show's director and costume design head, shared that characters' wardrobe choices will follow an "urban Pinoy concept." You can actually catch a glimpse of her donning some of our local prints in the teaser!
Most, if not all, of the costumes featured will be by local designers, which is something novel to most teleseryes. We can count on seeing Dr. Jill in a bountry of looks that will proudly "showcase our Filipino roots [and culture.]"
In case you didn't know, the show is based off of a British TV series titled Doctor Foster, which also had a Korean adaptation called The World of the Married, which starred Kim Hee Ae and Han So Hee. The K-drama is the highest-rating series under the genre to date, boasting a 28.37% score for its finale episode in 2020!
Playing the role of the other woman named Lexy is Sue Ramirez. Other cast members include Zaijan Jaranilla, Jane Oineza and Bianca Manalo in supporting roles.
Filming commenced earlier this year in Baguio City, and it's set to premiere in 2022 on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and TV5. Until then, you can catch the enthralling first teaser here.
