"Nag-click kami. I really owe a lot to him. Kevin Kwan in a sense launched me with the Harper's Bazaar feature," she tells Boy Abunda, describing her instant connection with the best-selling novelist.

During an unforgettable dinner held at Adora in collaboration with Fully Booked, Preview hosted a gathering that boasted a perfect blend of well-dressed guests, delectable food, and engaging conversations. Among the guests were notable figures such as designer Rajo Laurel, talented actress Iza Calzado, and—you guessed it—Heart and Kevin, who was then visiting the Philippines to promote his book Rich People Problems.
Heart, ever the fashion maven, graced the event in her little black dress while carrying a luxe Hermès Kelly Mini bag in red crocodile leather. While the guests engaged in a scents and stories theme, passing around a bowl of questions during dinner, the style icon enamored everyone at the table—including Kevin—with her story on the craziest thing she's ever done in the name of love.
Heart's love story commanded the undivided attention of everyone at the table, captivating them with its twists and turns. She exclaimed, "I've done many crazy things!" before delving into the tale that led her down the aisle in 2015. She recounted the strict opposition of her parents and how they vehemently objected to her relationship with Sen. Chiz Escudero. Determined to live life on her own terms, she made the bold choice to leave her home, facing financial challenges and starting from scratch. She spent years forging her own path, not speaking to her parents, until she walked down the aisle alone, proudly marching to her own beat. “My parents and I are okay now, things are fine,” she concludes.
With a twinkle in his eye, Kevin—who was seated beside Heart—playfully remarked, "Oh, you've just written my next novel!"
