After Disney+ branched out into Korean entertainment and with the subsequent success of Moving, K-drama fans have been looking forward to many of their new K-content releases. Their most recent revenge series The Impossible Heir quickly gained traction after it first aired back on February 28, 2024, but viewers seem to be unimpressed the longer the show goes on, reportedly due to a particular lead’s acting.

The lead in question is Hong Su Zu who plays Na Hye-won, the debt collector's daughter in the series.

Before The Impossible Heir, Su Zu only had experience acting in minor characters, making this her first-ever lead role. Despite many of the viewers’ excitement for the series, the actress is facing plenty of criticism with a Tiktok compilation of her performance going viral on X (formerly Twitter). “GO GIRL, GIVE US NOTHING!!!!” one post said.

Some netizens reportedly dropped the K-drama from their watch lists because of her performance.

The negative feedback has also reached her personal Instagram account, with netizens commenting about her acting on her posts. As of writing, Su Zu has turned off the comments section in her most recent posts.

Other users are also pointing out the alleged misogyny behind these callouts, saying that male K-drama actors rarely get the same level of criticism despite some “bad” performances.

While other netizens criticized the actress, some kind-hearted users opted to defend Su Zu and attempted to console her.
