According to outlets like the South China Morning Post, the incident occurred at Ginza Xiaoma, a high-end resale shop located on the 17th floor of New World Tower on Queen’s Road Central. At around 7:41 a.m., a security guard discovered the break-in, prompting a police investigation.
Surveillance footage revealed three masked suspects arriving at the store roughly 10 minutes earlier, equipped with a trolley, white sacks, and a portable battering ram. Two of the thieves were dressed in black shirts and caps, while the third wore a grey hoodie. The group smashed through the glass entrance door, swiftly pried open display cabinets, and packed the coveted handbags into their white sacks before fleeing in a seven-seater getaway car.

Photos from the scene show shattered glass littering the store’s entrance and showroom. Of the 450 handbags on the premises—comprising both store inventory and consigned items—67 were taken, although one bag was later recovered in the building’s stairwell. Seven other bags sustained damage during the heist.
Among the stolen items were iconic pieces such as the Birkin 25, Birkin 30, Kelly 25, and Kelly 28. Ginza Xiaoma, known as Asia’s top Hermès reseller, assured consignors of full compensation in line with its policy.
Founded in Japan, Ginza Xiaoma operates showrooms in Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong, specializing in rare and highly sought-after Hermès bags.
