In Instagram users’ lexicon, “shadowbanning” is when content is made “undiscoverable, hidden, or restricted” without the users’ knowledge, and it can even lead to posts being taken down completely.

While Instagram has not officially recognized the term, many have concluded that the social media company has the ability to deprioritize posts, resulting in lower reach and engagement. In 2023, Instagram head Adam Mosseri addressed concerns regarding it in a lengthy blog post.

In a previous Reel during Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2024 show, Heart had also addressed the shadowbanning allegedly perpetuated by a third party.

“Stolen contacts, black propaganda, hiring a [third] party to shadow ban my contents in the end will not matter, because I don’t do this for fame… I do this for love and passion [emoji],” she wrote, in a response to content creator Marco Bayona’s message.

The socialite-slash-actress continued: “I will keep doing this till I’m old and gray :)” Heart’s message read. “Even if no one is looking, I will continue to express myself through fashion because this gives me happiness :)”
