“I actually named her Sophia Heart. I was very excited to have her,” Heart Evangelista tearfully shared in an interview with Boy Abunda.

Heart Evangelista has been leading a packed schedule with back-to-back Fashion Week appearances, but she found the time to sit down with her husband, Sen. Chiz Escudero in a two-part interview with Boy Abunda on his show, Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

This is where the actress and fashion star made the tearful revelation that she and her husband lost what would have been a baby girl, who she referred to as her “perfect egg.”

Heart previously revealed that she had undergone in-vitro fertilization in September 2022.

The talk show host asked Heart about a statement she made in a previous interview. In that interview, the actress said that if she were to be blessed with a baby, the time would be now.

“I said that in our interview because I was, technically... We were expecting a baby, actually,” Heart revealed.

She continued, “I wasn't pregnant, but I was expecting my only girl that I had left – eggs. So at that time, I thought [she] was gonna make it, but she didn’t. So that one was a bit hard for me because... My God, ang hirap.

The actress also shared that she and Sen. Chiz found out that they lost the egg shortly before their second wedding in Balesin.

Heart shared that she had given her would-be daughter a name, Sophia Heart, which made it even harder to accept the news.

“I cried not because I wasn’t given what I want and I'm a spoiled child. I cry because it took so hard for me to produce the egg. And so it was hard for me to accept the fact that I gave her a name,” she said.

Heart added that while she was excited to have her daughter and she was sad over the loss, she realized that she was blessed in other ways and could not complain.

“I was really preparing for her. I really thought that I was gonna have a baby at that time when I felt like with everything that we went through, it was finally gonna happen but it didn't. But it’s okay. I mean I'm not the type to question anything. It’s just sad because I thought I was gonna be able to share what I do with my last girl. It's a little hard but I'm not questioning anything,” she said.

When Boy asked how Sen. Chiz felt, he said that he was “predisposed to always accept God’s will.”

The senator added that he consoled Heart with the thought that there were better plans in store for them. “If it's not now, if it's not this, may mas maganda pang naka-plano. Hintayin lang namin 'yun, he told the host.

Keeping you in our thoughts, Heart and Chiz!
