Heart Evangelista has never been the type to take things sitting down. After speaking out against alleged shadowbanning tactics on her Instagram account, she opened up about people taking advantage of her kindness.
The fashion maven recently brought up the topic on her Instagram broadcast channel Heart to Heart after a fan asked, “How did you manage to recover emotionally, mentally or spiritually sa [nang-abuso] sa kabutihan niyo po?” Wanting to impart sound advice, Heart gave a detailed answer through three separate video responses.
“Some people secretly wanted to have what you have,” she said. “For me, some things are normal and [I’m] just happy and grateful. And not a lot of people are going to be happy about that, so when somebody that was seemingly close to you says something bad about you, the ones that believe them never really liked you to begin with.”
According to Heart, it’s a waste of time and energy to obsess over bashers and detractors who are simply acting out of jealousy. “You recover by realizing that it’s okay. It was part of the criminal plan with their criminal minds, and you realize the reason why they work so hard to put you down is because you actually have a great life,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of staying grateful and unfazed.
She also added, “You have everything they’ve ever wanted and they work so hard to take it from you and get it, but that’s it.”
Heart capped off her response by explaining that she sees no point in always being nice, especially when there are people who could abuse that altruism. She even acknowledged that she herself could be mataray sometimes—but only when the situation calls for it!
“Dati mabait ako, ngayon hindi na. So kung nagtataray ako, may dahilan 'yun,” she said. Touching on her regaining her bravery, she concluded, “You could take everything. I will find ways to work hard and get it back. Basta si Lord kasama ko wala tayong problema.”
