We’ve got a lot to look out for from Han So Hee. Before her upcoming series with Park Seo Joon (Gyeongsang Creature) and her highly anticipated drama with Song Hye Kyo (The Price of Confession), we get to see the actress in a completely different role this year as a young sapphic in love.
Titled Heavy Snow, the lesbian romance drama stars So Hee in her big screen movie debut. For loyal fans of the actress, the film has been a long time coming as it was originally shot five years ago in 2018. Back then, So Hee was still a rising rookie actress who played supporting roles in K-dramas like Reunited Worlds, Money Flower, and 100 Days My Prince.
Last March 31, So Hee shared a few shots of the movie on her Instagram with its title for her caption.
Directed by Yun Su Ik, Heavy Snow premieres at the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival from April 27 to May 6. As per the event’s official website, the film depicts two high school students who “fall in love and experience a variety of emotions while going back and forth between Gangneung and Seoul. The film captures the two girls’ feelings for one another despite their separation in time and space. It also features Han So Hee in her younger years.”
Starring opposite So Hee is Han Hae In, who you might recognize from her brief stint in the MBC fantasy drama Tomorrow. Aside from that, she’s mostly appeared in Korean movies like Strange, Our Midnight, and The Art of Loving.

Heavy Snow isn’t the only WLW movie showing at the JIFF. There’s also No Heaven, But Love, another coming-of-age romance set in 1999 “at a high school taekwondo club and portrays friendship, love, and challenges young LGBT people face, including chronic violence and sexual assault." The film stars Park Soo Yeon and Squid Game actress Lee Yoo Mi. Watch its full trailer here.
