The Philippines is about to get a “mega-hotel” with the opening this year of the Grand Westside Hotel. The property located inside tycoon Andrew Tan’s Westside City township in Parañaque’s Entertainment City will have a total of 1,530 rooms, by far the biggest number in any hotel in Manila or anywhere in the country.

According to a release from property developer Megaworld, Grand Westside Hotel will have two towers and will offer a variety of room types and sizes, ranging from Queen Suites (up to 48 square meters), Twin Suites (up to 48 square meters), and Executive Suites (up to 48 square meters). It will also have Twin Suites (35 square meters) and Queen Suites (37 square meters) designed specifically for specially abled guests.

The hotel will feature four dining outlets, including the Grand Westside Café, an all-day dining restaurant, and an Executive Lounge exclusive to VIP guests.

“Once it opens, Grand Westside Hotel will become the biggest hotel property in our portfolio and in the entire country to date,” says Cleofe Albiso, managing director, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts. “It will be just a short drive away from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) via the NAIA Expressway (NAIAX), and promises to delight guests with wonderful views of the world-famous Manila Bay sunset as well as the skylines of Makati, Manila, and Taguig City.”

The company has said it is committed to invest about P64 billion on Westside City, the last parcel of land in the original plans to develop Entertainment City. The others are Enrique Razon’s Solaire Resort and Casino; City of Dreams, which is co-owned by Melco Resorts and Entertainment, the Sy family’s SM Investments Corp., and Belle Corp.; and Okada Manila.

Grand Westside is the latest project under Megaworld, which is already the leading hospitality player in the country with about 7,700 rooms under several brands in its portfolio. CEO Kevin Tan has said the company plans to add 12,000 more rooms over the next five years.

Grand Westside is the 19th and latest hotel property under Megaworld Hotels & Resorts. It is also the second homegrown hotel brand to rise inside Westside City. The 529-room Kingsford Hotel Manila opened in 2021.
