However, in between projects at a recent event, Kyung Pyo became the subject of netizens’ discussion when he was spotted looking noticeably different.

In attendance for the Korean label Miss Gee’s showcase at Seoul Fashion Week, the Love in Contract actor appeared before the press in a navy blue blazer and a pair of beige trousers. Comments had alluded to the actor possibly gaining weight due to his softer features.
One post on X, written in Korean, had asked about Kyung Pyo’s recent happiness, garnering almost two million views in the two days since it was posted. In modern Korean culture, weight gain can be connected to a person having a more stress-free lifestyle, according to Koreaboo.
Previously, the actor had opened up about his changes in weight on and off productions. According to Kyung Pyo, while he usually has a slimmer figure, he possesses a naturally large build. Alongside this, the Korean star has made a name for himself as an actor who has made drastic appearance changes for his roles, among them being the film 6/45. In the military comedy movie, Kyung Pyo gained weight to better depict his character’s childlike and innocent persona.
“I wanted to express the innocence of this person. My attitude toward the case and the attitude that I aspire to achieve is pure and clear,” he said in a translation by Kdramastars. “So if you watch the movie, you will be able to see that I am gaining weight. I thought it would be good if that image matched Chunwoo.”
While several had a positive outlook on his recent Seoul Fashion Week appearance, many, however, raised a few eyebrows at his new hairstyle. Some even compared the longer cut to Heo Dong Won’s Chu Jeong-ho, a.k.a. the teacher from the K-drama The Glory!
