Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars has emerged as one of the most watched reality shows of 2024. Its popularity has catapulted its participating chefs to global renown. So much so that their restaurants are reportedly seeing a huge spike in reservations ever since the series aired as fans flock over to try their mouthwatering creations.
Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos were among the many lucky enough to have booked a table at the restaurant of Chef Choi Hyun Seok, one of the show’s "White Spoon" chefs. They even got to meet Hyun Seok in the flesh!

In a recent Instagram post, Gabbi shared her excitement after she and her beau, Khalil, rubbed shoulders with the chef famed for his Korean-European fusion dishes. The couple chanced upon him at his restaurant in Cheongdam-dong in Seoul, Choi Dot.
“We binge-watched Culinary Class Wars before heading to South Korea, and one of the contestants we rooted for was none other than Chef Choi Hyun-seok, one of Korea’s most prominent chefs!” wrote the actress in her caption. “Because of the show’s popularity, almost all the restaurants owned by the chefs are fully booked. But we were so lucky to have dined at CHOI. Thank you, Chef Choi @crazypenne, for accommodating us!”
Apart from their photo with Hyun Seok, Gabbi also posted envious snaps of their food, showcasing the unexpected creativity the restaurateur is known for. You can even spot his famous Gundam-inspired dessert, named “Handsome,” in one of the clips she uploaded.
Fans may visit Choi Dot at the 3rd floor, 457 Dosan-daero, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The restaurant is named so because of Hyun Seok’s belief that his dishes “need no further explanation,” as evidenced by the period after his surname. It's also been recognized in the 50 Best Discovery list, which picks out the best restaurants, bars, and hotels around the world.
