One of the things fans love about former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Franki Russell is her knack for taking on new adventures (It's what led her to join PBB in the first place!). And it seems the New Zealand-born star is taking on a new challenge in life. Franki recently announced that she's officially joining Miss Universe UAE. Franki is among the Top 300 candidates of the pageant, besting over 15,000 other applicants.
On Instagram, Franki shared photos of her decked out in a glam look with the caption, "I am so inspired by everything this pageant stands for. Diversity, celebrating women from all walks of life, empowerment and breaking stereotypes. Stepping out of my comfort zone never felt so good."
She also shared a post on her Twitter account further explaining why she decided to join the UAE pageant for a chance to represent the country on the Miss Universe stage. "It may not be the flag you prefer, but I am so excited because this particular pageant represents a lot more than that.
"Diversity, celebrating girls from all cultural backgrounds, breaking stereotypes, and empowerment. I always want to try something new and challenge myself every day, while having fun and staying true to who I am. Let's grow and step out of our comfort zones together. To those who have shown support, I see you and I feel so blessed," her post reads.
Celebrity friends of Franki showed her some love and support for her pageant journey, including co-housemate and close friend Diana Mackey who also has her fair share of pageant experience.
The Top 30 candidates of Miss Universe UAE will be announced on October 20, 2021.
