Before there were the likes of Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera, there was Baby. In the '60s and '70s, she was always on society pages being labeled as one of the Philippines' best dressed women. She was one of the metro's trailblazers in the local fashion scene.
Although the cause of death has not been publicized, it was revealed through the post that Baby had actually passed on March 25, just two days after Chef Gaita’s 64th birthday. Netizens took to the comments section to express their sympathies. Celebrities, politicians, and socialites, such as Iya Villania, Charo Santos, Rajo Laurel, Alice Eduardo, Leni Robredo, and many more also sent their condolences.
Korina Sanchez also posted a tribute to her aunt-in-law on her Instagram after learning of her death. “What a life. Actually, a life worth 10 lives. Thank you Tita Baby Forés for the bar you set as a standard: for style, fun, party, friendship, generosity, for family, for LOVE. You will wake up in a City That Never Sleeps. I love you,” she said.
Baby was loved and respected by many and will surely be missed.
We send our deepest sympathies to Chef Gaita and her family.
