The acclaimed actress doesn't regret "overstaying" in order to attain her degree in Theater Arts.

Eugene Domingo has made her mark on the entertainment scene as one of the most acclaimed actresses we have today. With several titles in her filmography, she's proven her versatility both on screen and on stage.

In a recent upload on her YouTube channel, Eugene made it known that it took her years before she could formally dive into her career as an actress. To be exact, it took her eight years to attain her bachelor's degree in Theater Arts.

"I spent eight years, I think, in college. I finished [as a] Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts sa University of the Philippines-Diliman," she began narrating. Answering a series of queries from the internet, Eugene got candid about how long it took for her to graduate. "Yes, nag-overstay akoAng sarap sa university e," she added.

While she didn't explain why or how she extended the usual number of years for her course, she did emphasize how she never regretted working for her diploma. "Kung meron akong desisyon sa buhay na never kong pinagsisihan, [it] is ‘yung tinapos ko ‘yung education ko," she proclaimed.

During her time in college, Eugene joined her school's theater company, Dulaang UP, as an actress and production staff. Aside from her academic requirements, she experienced both sides of the theater, selling tickets and ushering in audiences during show dates.

Aside from being an Iska, the And the Breadwinner Is... star also spent one year at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines." According to her, the choice to study at state universities was a matter of finance. 

"Mahilig talaga ako sa state university. Ayoko talagang gumastos masyado ‘pag nag-aaral lalo na nung college kasi wala naman talaga akong pambayad," she explained. For Eugene, what was most important was that she was able to earn her degree. In her words, "gusto ko lang talagang makatapos ng kolehiyo nang may diploma.”
