The White Lotus may revolve around the vacation lives of the ultra-rich—and occasionally, their dramatic unraveling—but in a recent cover story with The Hollywood Reporter, the creators pulled back the curtain on what actually goes down behind the scenes, from casting dynamics to unexpected audition stories. And it turns out that despite the glam locales and luxury resort settings, the cast members of Season 3 were all on the same page—literally and financially.
How Much “The White Lotus” Season 3 Cast Members Earned
According to The White Lotus producer David Bernad, every actor on the show receives the same rate per episode, regardless of fame or number of Instagram followers. “Everyone is treated the same,” David said, adding that the series uses alphabetical billing and pays its stars the same flat rate, so no one’s chasing a bigger paycheck than the next.
With that in mind, A-listers, rising stars, and first-time TV actors are said to have all walked away with roughly $40,000 or approximately P2.2 million per episode, according to sources of The Hollywood Reporter. That figure may seem modest for an HBO megahit, but it was part of the show’s DNA from the very beginning—season one was made for under $4 million per episode (approx. P229 million) during the pandemic. Season three, in contrast, had a budget closer to $6–7 million or around P344 million to P402 million per episode.

Casting director Meredith Tucker explained that the equal-pay system helps set expectations from the jump. “Some won’t do it—and honestly, you can’t hold it against people who need to make a living,” she said. But those who do still choose to join are sign up for the project itself, not just the paycheck.
That includes global pop icon Lalisa “Lisa” Manobal, who joined Season 3 as Thidapon "Mook" Sornsin, a health mentor at the resort. Despite her massive fame as a member of K-pop girl group Blackpink, Lisa auditioned just like everyone else, even taking acting lessons and bringing her mom along for the ride. Creator Mike White admitted he was hesitant at first, not wanting the show to become a celebrity spectacle, but said her audition “was amazing” and ultimately undeniable. “She’s like Taylor Swift meets Princess Diana [in Thailand],” he added.

Even Woody Harrelson—originally slated to play Rick Hatchett before dropping out due to a scheduling conflict—reportedly tried to negotiate a higher rate by going straight to the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, who echoed David Bernad’s sentiment that salaries were “not negotiable.”
Who Stars in “The White Lotus” Season 3?
Set in a luxe wellness resort in Thailand, Season 3 of The White Lotus continues the show’s tradition of dropping a group of complicated, wealthy guests into a postcard-perfect location—and slowly peeling back the layers of dysfunction. This time around, it’s all green juices, spiritual enlightenment, and buried secrets waiting to erupt.

The cast includes Michelle Monaghan as Jaclyn Lemon, a Hollywood actress reconnecting with her old friends; Carrie Coon as Laurie Duffy, a newly single corporate lawyer from New York; and Leslie Bibb as Kate Bohr, a Texas-based country club wife. Walton Goggins plays Rick Hatchett, a brooding older man on vacation with his spirited Gen Z girlfriend Chelsea, played by Aimee Lou Wood. Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey appear as Timothy and Victoria Ratliff, parents to Lochlan, Piper, and Saxon—portrayed by Sam Nivola, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, respectively. Lalisa Manobal takes on the role of Mook, a serene yet enigmatic wellness mentor.

Rounding out the ensemble are Lek Patravadi and Scott Glenn as resort founders Sritala and Jim Hollinger, Tayme Thapthimthong as security guard Gaitok, Natasha Rothwell reprising her Season 1 role as Belinda, Jon Gries returning as the ever-mysterious Greg Hunt, and Sam Rockwell as Frank, Rick’s shady former associate.
