The T-wave has gained major prominence in recent years. Whether on our screens or on the streets of fashion week, fresh faces from the Thai scene have become strong players in the industry. Take Phuwin Tangsakyuen for example, an actor who's gained the trust of several luxury labels only after a couple of years in the biz.

1. Phuwin is a Cancer.
Phuwin was born on July 5, 2003 in the city of Bangkok. His name was derived from a Thai phrase that translates to "one who is blessed."

2. Phuwin is an Engineering graduate from Chulalongkorn University.
Phuwin spent his early years of education in cross-cultural institutions. He studied Kindergarten at the Ascot International School Bangkok before attending the Ruamrudee International School until Grade 11. By the time he graduated, he had already developed into a fluent English speaker. In an interview, he admits to "thinking" in both English and Thai.
For his college education, Phuwin took up Information and Communication Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, which is consistently ranked as the top school in Thailand. He graduated with a GED Diploma just last 2024.

3. Phuwin starred in a Thai staging of The Sound of Music.
Describing himself as a "straightforward" and "blunt" person, Phuwin initially didn't seek to take up acting. However, he was handpicked by a fifth grade drama teacher to take part in their school Christmas play, which became his gateway into the craft.
When he was 15 years old, he starred in a local stage production of The Sound of Music at the Muangthai Rachadalai Theater. He portrayed the role of Friedrich, the eldest of the Von Trapp children.
4. Phuwin started acting for TV at 11 years old.
Before he was singing Silent Night with his fictional siblings, Phuwin had already been acting on screen. His first few roles came with the Thai dramas Sunshine My Friend (2014), Neung Nai Sang (2015), and more. Most viewers caught a glimpse of the teen actor as the younger version of the male leads. In 2015, he officially signed a contract with Thai entertainment company GMMTV.

5. Phuwin broke through with his work on Boys' Love series.
Phuwin's big break arrived alongside his on-screen partnership with fellow actor Pond Naravit. The two were linked to play romantic counterparts in titles Fish upon the Sky (2021), Never Let Me Go (2022), and most recently, We Are (2024).

This catapult to success opened more doors for Phuwin, who was eventually given roles in other types of stories, such as Summer Night (2024) and Dalah: Death and the Flowers (2025), the latter of which streams worldwide on Netflix. Looking into what's ahead, the 24-year-old is slated to appear in another BL alongside Pond, plus the Thai adaptation of period drama Scarlet Heart.


6. Phuwin is a budding musician.
Musicality comes second nature to Phuwin, who can play the piano and guitar. He's also hopped on the official soundtracks of several of his shows. Last 2024, he released his debut single To You, which was produced by GMMTV subcompany Riser Music.

7. Phuwin has collaborated with luxury brands, including Loewe.
Thanks to his exponential success, Phuwin has caught the attention of Spanish luxury house Loewe. After frequent collaborations with the brand, he was formally inducted as a Friend of the House in 2024. Most recently, he was a representative present at the Crafted World exhibit held in Tokyo, Japan.


Aside from Loewe, other high-end labels have also tapped Phuwin to front their campaigns. These include Ralph Lauren, Tiffany & Co., and Cartier.
