Back when K-dramas were still referred to as Koreanovelas by Filipino audiences, Jung So Min was already a beloved leading lady. For over a decade now, she's explored the extremes of her acting skills, portraying everything from a ditzy schoolgirl to a hot-headed musical diva. In Alchemy of Souls, her latest project that just dropped on Netflix, she plays Mu-deok, a skilled warrior trapped in a commoner's body.

1. She's a Pisces
A native of Seoul, South Korea, So Min was born on March 16, 1989.
2. She made her acting debut in a short film starring Kim Soo Hyun
In 2009, So Min got her start via the short film Worst Friends, which was a project under the graduation workshop of her college's Department of Film. The movie fronted a fresh-faced Kim Soo Hyun as its main character, Jun-ki.

A year later, she co-starred in the revenge drama Bad Guy alongside Kim Nam Gil, Han Ga In, and Kim Jae Wook.
3. She graduated from the Korea National University of Arts
Despite already having her foot in the door, So Min still put her studies first before continuing her career. She took a brief break in 2011 in order to officially earn her degree from the Korea National University of Arts. Other notable alumni from the school include Kim Jung Hyun, Choi Sung Eun, and Yumi's Cells' actress Kim Go Eun.
4. She's currently handled by Blossom Entertainment
In 2013, So Min was a talent under SM Entertainment, which is known to house K-Pop powerhouses such as EXO, Red Velvet and NCT. Four years later, she signed with Jellyfish Entertainment (the same agency of Business Proposal stars Kim Sejeong and Kim Min Kyu), and in 2019, finally settled with Blossom Entertainment. She shares her current agency with heartthrobs Lim Ju Hwan and Park Bo Gum.
5. She's also a singer
Aside from being an actress, So Min is also a gifted singer. In fact, she even contributed her vocals to the official soundtracks of two of her dramas, namely Because This Is My First Life and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes. The latter of the two was a duet with her leading man in the show, Seo In Guk.
6. She her childhood dream was to become a radio DJ
One of the things on So Min's bucketlist when she was young was to become a radio DJ. Thankfully, she actually got to experience what it was like to be inside the booth! In 2018, she had a radio show titled Jung So Min's Young Street, which was broadcasted through SBS Power FM. On the program, she got to chat with the likes of Kim Jae Wook, DAY6, and Seventeen.
7. She loves kids
Back in 2019, in probably one of her favorite TV appearances to date, So Min participated in Little Forest, an entertainment reality show where celebs like her were tasked to take care of young toddlers. As a person who adores little ones, the actress had a blast! Until today, she posts the cutest reels and photos of her own nieces and nephews on her Instagram.
8. She's made cameos in a number of dramas
Sometimes, an actress only needs to be on screen for less than an episode in order to make an impact (or maybe just to make a cheeky appearance.) Such is the case with So Min, who's made memorable cameos in dramas like Miss Korea, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Abyss, Be Melodramatic, and My Roommate Is a Gumiho.
9. She's an introvert
Although they live their lives in the public eye, not all celebrities are outgoing social butterflies. On one occasion, a fan asked So Min what her MBTI type was through Instagram stories. To this, she revealed that she's an INFJ, meaning she's an introvert.
She further expounded on this when she was asked to share about herself on a Korean talk show. The 33-year-old stated that she, "needs her own separate space, but since I live with my parents, there’s times I don’t feel comfortable even in my room. Emotionally, I need my own space and time to myself."
