"Dedicated"—that's the word Choi Bo Min used when asked about his plans as a newly signed artist under Universal Records Philippines and GLXY Management. ICYMI, the K-pop idol is the latest to join the growing list of K-pop stars venturing into the Philippine entertainment scene.
K-Pop Idol Choi Bo Min On His Career Plans in the Philippines
On March 20, Bo Min officially signed with the two companies in a press conference, which was attended by Cosmopolitan Philippines. The Korean personality is ready to make waves in the Philippines, and is set to star in an upcoming project with GMA.
"Finally, I am here in the Philippines. What I want to do now is show more of Bo Min and be diverse in the country. I have a big upcoming project with GMA: A drama series. Stay tuned and please support me," he tells Cosmo.
There's a lot to expect from Bo Min when it comes to his career. Aside from becoming an actor in his own right, he'll also be making time and effort to produce an album for his fans. "I'm preparing a lot of acting and even my album. I'm so excited to explore a career in the Philippines and I can't wait to do it. I'm ready," the 24-year-old said.
A big part of Bo Min's excitement for this new chapter comes from his deep gratitude for his fans. He shared how surprised and touched he was to see people waiting for him at the airport when he arrived in Manila.
"I can tell Filipino fans are very energetic. They are very friendly, kind, and lovely people," and when asked if there's anything about him that his fans would be surprised to know, Bo Min shared, "My fans probably do not know that I can play piano and violin."
ICYDK, Bo Min first made his mark as the visual of the K-pop group Golden Child. But in 2024, he chose not to renew his contract with the group, opening a new chapter in his career. Beyond music, he's also explored acting and hosting in the Korean entertainment industry.
You've probably seen him in some of his notable K-drama roles-like 18 Again and A-Teen. In 18 Again, he played one of the love interests of actress Roh Jeong Eui's character, making him a standout in the series.
