It hasn’t even been a full month since the sophomore release of Emily in Paris dropped on Netflix, and yet the streamer has already renewed it for not just one, but two more seasons!
Yep, no matter your reason for binge-watching this comedic guilty pleasure, there’s clearly a lot more to look forward to. Jumping off of the success of its first season—which became Netflix’s most streamed comedy show in 2020—season two of the series reportedly garnered an impressive 107.6 million hours of viewing time in just its first week.
In case you haven’t seen it yet, season two picks up after the events of season one, a.k.a. Emily dealing with the aftermath of sleeping with her friend’s ex-boyfriend. Much like the first installment, responses to this latest one have been mixed.
While The Atlantic commends it for finally giving the show’s locals their own storylines, writer Spencer Kornhaber also goes on to call it “preposterous and privilege-ridden.” On the other hand, The Hollywood Reporter described the 10-episode follow-up as “delicately choreographed feast,” while another miffed reviewer says it’s “somehow worse than the first season.”
Created by Darren Star, Emily in Paris stars Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, and William Abadie.
There's no timeline yet for the release of seasons three and four but we'll definitely keep you posted!
You can watch both existing seasons of Emily in Paris exclusively on Netflix.
