Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced her divorce from her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, through a public post on her verified Instagram account.

In the now-viral post, Sheikha Mahra, daughter of Dubai's ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wrote: "Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife."
The statement on Sheikha Mahra's Instagram post seemingly follows the Islamic practice known as triple talaq, a method of divorce that has been banned in many countries but traditionally allows a husband to divorce his wife by declaring "I divorce you" three times.
Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana had a high-profile wedding in April 2023. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Mahra, just two months ago.
Following the announcement, in addition to unfollowing each other on Instagram, Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana have also removed all photos of each other from their social media accounts. The news has sparked significant attention on the internet, with many commenters expressing support for Sheikha Mahra’s decision. "I find it empowering when a woman recognizes her worth and confidently stands her ground," one user wrote.
