The Clark International Airport in Pampanga is set to be one of the country's main gateways with the addition of a cool new terminal. And it looks like the wait might be coming to an end pretty soon with the construction of the Passenger Terminal Building at 97.81% complete as of March 9, according to the Department of Transportation. Plus, the massive building looks to be real promising—just check out the photos of the structure below:
Those wavy designs are meant to emulate the mountains of Luzon: Mount Arayat and Mount Pinatubo—both of which are found less then 20 kilometers away from Clark—and the Sierra Madre mountain range on Luzon's eastern seaboard.
Currently, the new Clark International Airport Terminal 2 is undergoing work for exterior finishes, ancillary facilities, specialist systems and equipment, plus works to prevent landslides, added the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
The new terminal will be completed in 2020, said DOTr. At around 100,000 square meters, this huge space will bring the annual passanger capacity of Clark International Airport to 12.2 million from the current number of 4.2 million a year. Fingers crossed this helps decongest Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport!
