If you’ve been wondering how Derek Ramsey pulled off that shotgun proposal to Ellen Adarna, the couple’s latest vlog will finally answer all your burning questions. Based on the teaser Ellen posted on Instagram, the vlog would reveal all the details behind her sudden engagement that shocked the local showbiz industry. Surprisingly, just like us, Ellen was not expecting to receive a marriage proposal that night.

Derek Ramsey and Ellen Adarna's Engagement Proposal Story

It started out as a simple vlog where Derek was showing Ellen a compilation of birthday greetings for her. The actress at this point was all embarrassed as she was surrounded by the rest of her family and friends as she watched the tribute video. After the well-wishes, the two proceeded to do a scavenger hunt—Derek acted as if he had nothing to do with it at all.

Confused by the sudden game of clues, Ellen said she was “not thinking straight at the moment,” to which Derek jokingly replied, “then think crooked.” Each clue they found led to another as they traversed Ellen’s home; the actress was totally oblivious to what was really happening.

The actress was totally shocked when the paper notes led to a surprise birthday set-up. 

She was even brought to tears seeing the balloons and all. But Derek still had more up his sleeve. He handed her the last clue written on a red card.

As she read the card, Derek pulled off the balloons to reveal a neon “Will You Marry Me?” sign that’s now highly recognized from their engagement photo. Ellen was so taken aback, she was lost for words before replying with a resounding, “Yes!”

Nervous and elated, Ellen even asked if the ring would fit as Derek fumbled a bit to put it on. Long story short, it did and the rest is history!
