There's no stifling Filipino talent. Be it producing works of art or performing it, the fire of creativity is alive and burning with up-and-coming artists breathing new life into the flames.
The Philippine creative landscape truly deserves to be celebrated—more so because we are in the middle of its powerful renaissance. "We say renaissance because, in our own ways, we're still trying to survive the pandemic's aftermath and the toll it took on our industry. And it's of paramount importance that young creatives don't lose that spark, that passion," Preview Editor-in-Chief Marj Ramos-Clemente explains in her opening remarks at this year's first Preview Soirée.
Together with Heinz, we honored Filipino talent in our Preview Soirée held at Silong Lounge last Thursday, April 20, by officially launching this year's Creative 25 honorees. The whimsical upside-down event tickled the spirit of fun, playfulness, and artistry. Check out the highlights below!
The Creative 25 Launch at the Preview Soirée
1. The upside-down event was fittingly held in an underground lounge.
Ready to enter the rabbit hole? The venue totally gave off Alice in Wonderland feels as we had to descend to the basement to reach it. Once inside, you were immediately greeted with decadent decor that transported us into a different world. What's more, they even served Heinz' Bottoms Up, an aesthetic upside-down drink in line with the theme.
2. Our Creative 25 honorees graced the event in their most creative outfits.
A party is only as good as its guestlist, and with the Creative 25 gracing the soirée, you can definitely expect a memorable night. We had the honor of hosting the next generation of talents under one roof and it was certainly one for the books! Check out our full list of honorees here.
3. We had a super creative upside-down photobooth!
When you're dressed to the nines, of course, you'd want to document it. We had the cutest photobooth for OOTDs, whether solo or with friends. The fun doesn't end with the eye-catching vignette, though! Don't forget to flip over the image and turn your story into an extraordinary experience with Heinz! After all, isn't it about time we dare to try something new and exciting? A change in perspectice does just that!
4. Our Editor-in-Chief Marj Ramos-Clemente raised a toast to Filipino creatives.
The program was short and sweet with our EIC Marj Ramos-Clemente welcoming guests to this very special night for Preview and raising a toast to Filipino creatives. "Tonight, we're honoring the next generation of talented groups and individuals—designers, makeup artists, musicians, directors, and various creatives in their respective fields—who are making sure that the local creative industry continues to thrive in the years to come," she saluted.
5. Finally, it was party time!
After years in pandemic lockdown, it was such a treat to have the industry's most promising unwind and meet each other IRL. DJs Christi Mc Garry and Eduardo Lara were on deck to provide an upbeat yet chill soundtrack to the evening.
