Sneaking out of home, overhearing hallway gossip, and getting smitten over one's first love are all essential tidbits of one's coming-of-age. In the early 2000s, GMA sent their viewers on a nostalgic trip every afternoon with Click, a TV drama about a group of teenagers growing up. Aside from being a sentimental watch for its viewers, the show also served as a launchpad for some of the brightest stars in show biz throughout its four-year run. Below, we round up some of the memorable personalities to have joined the gang.
Here's where 10 cast members of Click are today
1. Roxanne Barcelo
Roxanne Barcelo's impressive showing in GMA's Metropop Star Search earned her a role as the kikay Toni in Click. After the show, she delved into hosting, singing, modelling, and eventually acting as a sultry siren. You most probably remember her as a housemate on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 1, and as the cunning Natalie Alcantara in the 2017 teleserye Wildflower. She got married to her non-show biz beau in 2020, and just a couple months ago, gave birth to their first child.
2. Maybelyn Dela Cruz
Maybelyn Dela Cruz started her career as one of the cast members on family-comedy Home Along Da Riles. She regularly appeared on the sitcom, as well as some other projects, while fulfilling her leading role as Rose in Click. Currently, Maybelyn works as a public service official in Dagupan, having served as a city councilor there before.
3. James Blanco
One of the boys to be paired up with Roxanne in the show was James Blanco as Anton. His debut performance on Click earned him a Best New Male TV Personality award at the 14th PMPC Star Awards. He then went on to fulfill several roles across different networks, with GMA's Prima Donnas being his latest project.
4. Angelika Dela Cruz
Aside from starring as Ollie in Click, Angelika Dela Cruz's first projects in the industry include singing TV show OSTs and appearing in the original runs of Esperanza and Mara Clara. Her impressive portrayal of Lavinia Arguelles in the remake of Bituing Walang Ningning was lauded by many, that her networks soon branded her as the premiere kontrabida actress. Today, she balances show business with being a local politician in Malabon.
5. Alessandra De Rossi
Alessandra De Rossi's piercing performances in Kita Kita and My Amanda are only recent examples of her exemplary acting skills. After bursting into the scene as Ian in Click, she dove straight into the scene as a dramatic actress, collecting quite the number of FAMAS and Gawad Urian awards along the way. One of her most unforgettable roles has got to be the sinister yet misunderstood Valentina in the 2005 edition of Darna.
6. Tricia Roman
Notably one of the few cast members to have actually appeared in all four seasons of the show, Tricia Roman's character as Issa was beloved by audiences everywhere. She retired from acting in 2007, and now enjoys a life as an entrepreneur, wife, and mother of two.
7. Danica Sotto
Danica Sotto was only slated to appear on Click for 6 episodes, but her thrilling portrayal of Kara made her a cast mainstay. It was because of this that she was offered more kontrabida roles by GMA, namely in Krystala and Hong Kong Flight 143. Three years after the series wrapped up, she wed basketball player Marc Pingris, and bore two kids with him.
8. Chynna Ortaleza
When the OG squad went to college in season 2, they met Mimi, who was played by Chynna Ortaleza. Post-Click, she continued acting in teleseryes and films such as Magic Palayok and The Rich Man's Daughter. In 2015, she tied the knot with band vocalist Kean Cipriano. They then went on to co-establish O/C Records, a record company that handles crooners Arthur Nery and Unique Salonga, among other artists.
9. Richard Gutierrez
Coming from a show biz powerhouse of a family, Richard Gutierrez got his start in the industry in Beh Bote Nga, Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, and Click, playing the charming Enzo in the latter. Many of us now know him as Captain Barbell, Julian in Mulawin, and as Zorro. But for Sarah Lahbati, he's simply known as her beau and the dad of their kids, Zion and Kai.
10. Angel Locsin
All heroes start from somewhere, and for real-life Darna Angel Locsin, that was being Charley in Click. From there on out, her repertoire of acting roles only expanded, with each one she takes on becoming as iconic as the next. For some, she may be Alex in Four Sisters And a Wedding, and for others, she's Monica Santiago in The Legal Wife. No matter the case, there's no denying just how impactful the actress' contributions to the industry has been—and if you disagree, you can talk to her mutiple Star Awards, Gawad Tanglaw, and FAMAS trophies.
