In transit in Clark, Pampanga soon? Consider yourself a lucky traveler because their very own Clark International Airport has been named as "one of the world’s most beautiful airports," according to the prestigious Prix Versailles.

The Philippine airport received the distinguished Prix Versailles Laureate in its list of World’s Most Beautiful Airports in 2023, an annual distinction that serves as UNESCO’s World Architecture and Design Award.

This year’s selection rounded up 24 airports across the globe, with the Clark International Airport as the lone recipient in the Southeast Asian region. According to the award-giving body, the Prix Versailles highlights the laureates’ role of “beautifying and improving the living environment.” The awarded airports are lauded to be “signs of exceptional architecture and design.”

The designs of Clark International Airport take inspiration from the landscapes of Central Luzon, boasting hues that represent green fields, the Mt. Pinatubo Lake, Manila Bay, and Mount Arayat. Meanwhile, its interiors also highlight cultural elements of Pampanga, including the kaleidoscopes of the Christmas parol.
