Clark International Airport’s new passenger terminal finished construction ahead of schedule despite quarantine restrictions. This new building is expected to increase the capacity of the terminal that is an alternative to Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.

The Build, Build, Build project was slated to finish by the end of October but was completed as early as the end of September. Workers observed strict health protocols to avoid catching the virus as construction was ongoing.
The new passenger terminal building is expected to be fully operational by January next year, as directed by Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade.
Once operational, the projected passenger capacity for the whole Clark International Airport will be bumped up to 12.2 million annually, triple that of its current 4.2 million capacity.
The airport is seen to provide job opportunities and push for tourism in the entire region of Central Luzon. It also aims to decongest passenger traffic at the NAIA in Pasay City.
