Representing Taguig at this year's Miss Universe Philippines pageant is 33-year-old Christi McGarry. This isn't her first time competing in a beauty brawl, having already represented the country not just once but twice at Miss Intercontinental. The beauty queen's track record is quite impressive, having finished as a finalist in both editions she participated in.

Outside of pageantry, Christi has lent her modeling prowess to being a muse for local designers Bonita Penaranda, Boom Sason, and Randolf Clothing. When she's not on the catwalk, she can often be found by the sand and sea, soaking up some sun in a bikini. Naturally, someone with her level of experience is a pro at posing in a swimsuit. Glean some tips from her ahead!
LOOK: Christi McGarry's Best Swimsuit Poses
1. Create a moment out of your poolside lounging by raising one arm and tucking one leg under the other. Close your eyes for a pensive energy to things.

2. For a daintier look, gently tilt your head and run your fingers through your hair. This is also a cute way to show off a headband that matches your swimmie!

3. Up for a brief core workout? Face to the side, and rest your body weight on your thigh. Place both hands beside you to keep your balance. Glance and away and take the snap!

4. As far as "candid" shots go, nothing gives off beach babe energy like the good ole tugging-on-my-tanga pose. Take this as an opportunity to flaunt that toned body!

5. When golden hour hits, the best thing to do is to take it all in. With a pair of shades on, position yourself towards the sun while bending your frontmost knee. Act like your fixing your sunnies for a bit of drama.

6. To emanate carefree energy, raise both of your arms while grabbing one side of your shades. Flash your pearly whites and you've got a cute shot!

7. Sometimes, all it takes to get the perfect snap is to swipe that face card. Supplement it with a laid-back stance by resting your elbows on a railing or surface.

8. When you want to feel a bit elusive, a mirror selfie will do the trick. Simply cover your face with your camera, bend one knee, put one hand behind your head, and click!
