Seat sales have long been marked on staunch travelers’ calendars, but for some, the deal of a lifetime might have actually been a bug. That was at least the case for one international airline, when a system error caused it to sell 78-peso tickets by accident!

On November 8, Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines experienced a two-hour glitch on its mobile app and several ticket-booking platforms, which caused a drastic markdown on plane tickets across the service.
In a report by Reuters, screenshots of the app during the error circulated on the internet showing flights available at 10 to 30 Chinese yuan (approx. P76 to P230). One screenshot cited by the news outlet showed a ticket from Chengdu to Beijing, China at 10 yuan (P76), which is regularly priced at a minimum of 400 to 500 yuan (P3076 to P3845). On top of this, travelers were also expected to pay at least 110 yuan (P845) in airport fees and fuel surcharges.
Despite the system error, China Southern Airlines promised the tickets are still considered valid, and can be used as regular.
“Passengers can use them as normal,” the airline said, given that the tickets have already been paid for and issued.
According to a report by Insider, a similar incident happened with the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways in April, with buyers snagging $10,000 (approx. P560,000) roundtrip tickets for $300 (approx. P16,000). However, unlike this time , tickets weren't honored as they were "erroneously processed."
