Hiking in the many mountains of the Philippines is especially rewarding this time of the year because of the so-called sea of clouds that greets you at the summit. But if waking up at an early hour to test your leg strength is not your cup of tea, there are spots in Rizal Province where you can still enjoy a similar view—sans the legwork. Caza Peregrine Resort and Restaurant in San Mateo, for example, is a mountainside hangout you can drive to, pay an entrance fee of P50, and take photos of the verdant terrain from a tree-top view deck. Kids between the ages of three and nine get a discounted fee of P30.

Visitors can walk in between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. You can also dine at their restaurant with a last call at 7:30 p.m. Their in-house resto offers usual Filipino fare, such as Crispy Pata (P700) and Sizzling Pork Sisig (P200). They also have facilities for overnight stays, which can either be the Kubo Room for two at P2,899 or the Glass Room for two at P3,899.
But really, the highlight of Caza Peregrine Resort and Restaurant is the square-sized view deck that juts out into the cloud-covered slopes of Sierra Madre.
Caza Peregrine Resort and Restaurant is in Purok 4, Barangay Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal. The entrance fee is P50. Day tours don't require prior reservation. For more information, follow Caza Peregrine Resort and Restaurant on Facebook.
