When you’ve reached a certain level of starhood, trying to keep your life private becomes a big challenge. With cameras that follow you at every corner, you can’t help but seek refuge from all the prying eyes. This is where members-only clubs come in!
One such club is Casa Cipriani, a family-owned hotel and private membership club where Hollywood A-listers and heiresses like Preview Best Dressed honoree Rocio Zobel often spend their time.
What is Casa Cipriani?
The exclusive club located in lower Manhattan, New York City first opened in August 2021. It includes a members-only-access jazz cafe, ultra-lush luxury suites, and a wellness center where the who’s who of New York can enjoy some time away from the paparazzi.
Despite only being opened in recent years, staying in Casa Cipriani feels a lot like a portal to a different era. With interiors by Thierry Despont, it’s one of the last places designed like a Beaux-Arts ferry terminal in New York.
Aside from being an architectural marvel, the club is also a hotspot for star-studded parties. In fact, this is where the 2024 Met Gala after party was held, hosted by the likes of Doja Cat, Serena Williams, and Rita Ora.
How do you become a member of Casa Cipriani?
It takes more than an inquiry to be part of this highly exclusive club. To become a candidate for membership one must be either proposed and seconded by existing members of the club and/or appointed by the proprietor at its discretion.
And once you’ve become a member, you’re still expected to pay an annual membership fee, and it’s no small price. While the website doesn’t explicitly state how much the membership fee is, some reports state that it's nearly $4,000 or roughly P231,414.
However, on rare occasions, the club may offer certain members a lifetime membership that doesn’t require them to pay the annual fees. This type of membership is only by invitation of the proprietor.
What are the benefits of becoming a member of Casa Cipriani?
Aside from having access to the hotel’s exclusive dining spots and first dibs at their suites, you also get to dine and possibly network with the other members of Casa Cip, too. It is a social club, after all! Just make sure to abide by their strict rules or you might be booted from the club.
Case in point: They have a strict no photo or video rule, which has actually resulted in three members being removed from the club after photos of Taylor Swift and Matty Healy on a date were posted online by the now-ex-members. The club also has strict dress codes that don’t allow graphic tees with large visible logos, hoodies, and ripped denim pants or shorts. Flip flops, sandals, and overly revealing clothing are also strictly not allowed. Anyone who doesn’t follow their rules will be denied entry at the discretion of their front desk team.
