It’s a glamping spot not so far from Manila!

On the perpetual lookout for new glamping grounds, this Airbnb discovery called Camp-T-House piqued our interest. After all, it’s impossible to resist when it features small, dark, cubic homes cast against a sprawling naturescape.

Here’s a look at Camp-T-House, the one-of-a-kind glamping spot that you have to visit:

Where it's located

T-House is located in Cavinti, Laguna. It’s part of BLOC Camp Site, a company that has several camping and glamping spots in the area. It will take around a two-hour drive from Metro Manila to get there. If you plan on bringing a car, you don’t have to worry about parking since they have a couple of slots available for guests.

Accommodations

The T-Houses are small, cube-like structures that are made of dark gray metal and framed floor-to-ceiling glass. The overall tone is modern, minimalist, and serene. Contrasted against the soft landscape of natural blues and greens, each structure makes such an eye-catching impact.

Contrary to its stark exteriors, the inside feels warm, cozy, and welcoming. The walls and ceilings are made with polished wood, uniform and neatly placed. This continues towards the patio that’s also flanked with wooden slats. According to their page, the design takes from the aesthetic of Japanese minimalism—simple, sleek, and zen. In short, perfect for relaxing the weekend away.

Overall, there are a few kinds of T-Houses you can book, from those within their farm to those by the lake. Don’t worry, they’re spaciously scattered around the area, which gives you ample privacy. A stay here will definitely make you feel like you’re in your own quiet slice of paradise.

Amenities

Each house is built with a living room and a bedroom area. On the lower floor is the living room which comes with a sofa (it can transform into a bed if you’d need more sleeping space). Upstairs is the mezzanine that serves as a cozy bedroom. Keeping to that Japanese design sensibility, all finishes and furnishings stay uncluttered and unembellished seeing as you’ll find matte black accents and streamlined furniture pieces all throughout.

Perhaps the biggest caveat is the bathroom setup because it is housed in a common area that you share with other visitors. But considering that BLOC Camp Site accommodates a relatively small number of guests at a time, it shouldn’t be a huge problem.

Activities

The most treasured site in the camping ground is the lake, which you’re free to take a refreshing dip in. You can also rent a kayak or canoe to traverse the waters. If you’re feeling active, you can rent spots at the sports lounge to play badminton, table tennis, or darts. We also wouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to walk around the grounds (or even rent and ride a bike), as the BLOC Camp Site is a sprawling grassland with tons of nature to explore in each corner.

When the sun goes down, you can rent the Floating Dating Dock or Floating Bonding Bar, private dining areas that sit right on the lake. By 8:00 p.m. all guests are welcome to join the nightly bonfire where you can simply lounge around and get comfy.

As many activities there are to do on the campsite, nothing can beat just sitting by your private deck and facing the lake. It invites a sense of slowness (something we all need) that allows you to just take a breath, read a book, and soak in the view.

What to eat

For food, you can get meals at BLOC Camp Cafe and BLOC Bistro Bar. You can also order on-site, but the owners encourage you to pre-order your meals, which will get you discounted prices too.

If you want a more down-and-dirty camping experience, there’s an option to bring your own food to grill. The best part? There’s no corkage fee! If you opt for the latter, there’s a common area where you’ll be assigned a time slot and grill where you can cook your meal.
