A few days ago, the internet fell into a frenzy over the news of Hollywood star Cameron Diaz reportedly being spotted at a restaurant in El Nido, Palawan. News spread after sports analyst Charles Tiu, whose post has since been deleted, tweeted a photo with the actress at the Vanilla Beach. Fueling the reports, Happy Ongpauco-Tiu, owner of I Love Backyard BBQ restaurant, also posted her own photos on Instagram with the supposed Hollywood star.
However, hours after the news went viral, several people argued that the blonde-haired Caucasian woman in the photo was, in fact, not Cameron. This includes Heart Evangelista and TV news anchor Karen Davila, who both aired out their doubts by commenting on Happy’s IG post.
The next day, on Happy's IG story, the chef and entrepreneur announced that Cameron apparently returned to their restaurant, captioning her photo, “And she came back! It’s definitely Cameron but not Bradley [Cooper]."
Still unconvinced, several users on Twitter also questioned if the woman in the photo is indeed the Hollywood actress:
Shortly after, Asian-American news outlet Next Shark also reported on the said dispute, claiming that "people thought Cameron Diaz visited the Philippines" but the woman was actually "just a normal tourist."
So what do you think? Was it really Cameron or just a lookalike of the Hollywood star? Share your thoughts in the comment box below!
