It’s already been days since Anne Curtis made her debut in Paris Fashion Week 2023, but the internet is still buzzing with all sorts of opinions about her looks abroad. While there were numerous fans who showered the 38-year-old actress with compliments, there were also some detractors who left rude comments on her photos.
One netizen, for instance, didn’t have good things to say about her glimmering OOTD at the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2024 showcase. The basher’s exact comment read, “What she wore were very underwhelming. Just like what she will wear for TNT grandfinals.”
Although Anne herself didn’t reply to the comment, fellow Paris Fashion Week attendee Bryanboy responded to the basher with a two-minute TikTok video. Without losing his cool, he stood up for Anne and called out the basher for being disrespectful.
“Grabe, ang mean naman ng comment mo,” he replied to the netizen. While using Anne’s outfit as the video’s backdrop, he told the basher that celebrities have to first and foremost respect the designers of the fashion shows they attend. “Hindi naman kasi talaga siya patalbugan ng outfits. What people forget talaga is, you have to be respectful of the designers, the brands, and the fashion houses that you go to,” he explained.
To illustrate his point, he showed their OOTDs at the Hermès runway presentation and pointed out that they only wore colors in line with the fashion house’s signature palette. “It’s all aligned and Hermès is a very discreet fashion house,” he shared.
He also complimented Anne’s other simple yet chic outfits in Paris, from her all-black Valentino OOTD to her pristine white Loewe frock. “Anne is very beautiful naturally. She doesn’t need a lot of makeup, she doesn’t need a lot of glam. She doesn’t need a lot of jewelry. I want her to radiate herself,” he said.
Touching on Anne’s effortlessly elegant style, he added, “Hindi naman kasi brand ni Anne Curtis na mang-loka or mang-kabog sa fashion week. There’s a right place and a right time for everything. I know what you’re trying to say, sa mata mo lang 'yung underwhelming. But for her and the many of us who love her, this is her personal style and it’s very authentic to herself.”
