Prince Harry is fifth down the line!

Queen Elizabeth II's passing on Thursday, September 8, sent shockwaves throughout the Commonwealth, Realm, and rest of the world. This marks a new era for the monarchy, with Prince Charles, who will from now on be referred to as King Charles III, ascending to the throne.

King Charles is the oldest monarch ever to become King of the United Kingdom at the age of 73. His wife, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, on the other hand, will now be recognized as the Queen Consort. They've been married since 2005 and have received the Queen's blessing on more than one occasion.

The Queen wrote of the couple ahead of the 70th anniversary of her reign: "When, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service."

Of course, the Queen's death also means a new royal line of succession in the family. Here is how it's going to look like.

First: Prince William, Duke of Cornwall

Prince William is now the heir apparent to the throne. The Duke of Cornwall is the King's eldest son.

Second: Prince George of Cornwall

Next comes Prince William's own eldest child, Prince George of Cornwall. He recently turned nine this year.

Third: Princess Charlotte of Cornwall

As the second child and only daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Charlotte is now the third in line.

Fourth: Prince Louis of Cornwall

Four-year-old Prince Louis is fourth in the line of succession. The second son of Prince William and Catherine is only four years old.

Fifth: Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex

While he has stepped back from his royal duties, Prince Harry remains fifth in the line of succession. Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, moved to the United States a few years ago.

Farther Down the Line

Farther down the line are Prince Harry's children, Master Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, at sixth and seventh. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, meanwhile, is the eighth in line for the throne. His daughter, Princess Beatrice of York, is ninth while her daughter, Miss Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, is tenth.
