French-Belgian designer Matthieu Blazy takes onlookers through the motions of growing up with Bottega Veneta's Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The show, held at Milan Fashion Week, explored the different stages of one's coming-of-age—think oversized suits donned by a youngster playing dress up, tailored ensembles worn by an adult to the office, and playfully doodled-on bags that keep a childlike glee intact.
This ethos was also reflected in the show's seating arrangement. Instead of the traditional rows of chairs or benches, guests were seated on adorable bean bags fashioned after animals. Vanessa Friedman, a style insider for The New York Times, noted how the brand seemingly assigned a specific animal for each and every attendee.

With the likes of Jacob Elordi and Michelle Yeoh in the front row, the show was a reclamation of sorts of one's youthful spirit. In an interview with the press, creative director Matthieu said, "[with this collection] I started to see it like a kid. In a kid's world, everything is possible."

Cats, dogs, birds, snakes, whales, and more lined the venue as a way to showcase how Bottega Veneta is dedicated to elevating its craft without ever losing its playful spirit. The house, usually associated with its "quiet luxury" aesthetic, is keen on reminding its patrons to still have fun with fashion. "You can really approach reality in a different way. We need joy. We need this moment for ourselves, to continue to play," Matthieu said.
