I'm sure I'm not the only bookworm who's guilty of hoarding books. After all, there's a certain kind of thrill that comes from scouring the shelves at your local bookstore and investing in your next favorite read.
The thrifty bibliophiles out there might say that it's unwise to buy books in bulk, but there are actually lots of book sales that offer good finds at discounted prices. For example, Bookchigo is one bookstore that sells books by weight.
Established in 2020 along Aguinaldo Highway, this shop is your next go-to for affordable reads with slight tears and minor soiling. According to their social media, you can score one kilo of novels, classics, non-fiction reads, and children's books for only P200. They're also open to supplying resellers for as low as P100 per kilo!
The best part: The store itself looks so magical! Unlike most books-per-kilo sales, Bookchigo's vast selection is housed in a spacious store that deserves a spot on your IG feed. We're talking tall shelves brimming with colorful book spines and rustic decor in warm hues. Basically, a scene straight out of an aesthetic animated film!
Bookchigo is open every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can just book a weekend visit with your barkada if you're too busy after school or work. The store is located at Subarashi Japan Surplus along Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, Cavite.
Not willing to drive all the way to Cavite? No worries! Bookchigo also regularly sells discounted bundles through their official Facebook account. You can then opt to have your choices shipped to your doorstep via J&T, Lalamove, or Shopee.
Happy shopping, bookworms!
