Check out Mt. Camisong Forest Park in Itogon, Benguet:
Mt. Camisong Forest Park and Events Place is Benguet's newest attraction that'll bring lowland folk closer to the full glory of the Cordilleras. The ecotourism spot opened on February 1.
One of the park's highlights is the glass viewing deck, Alapaap. The walkway, which overlooks the mountainside, creates the illusion of walking atop the slopes, giving guests a panoramic view of the Benguet pine forests. On a cloudy or foggy day, you would practically be walking on clouds.
But if the prospect of walking on the transparent glass on the mountainside makes your knees weak, you can still bask in the cool pine air while taking a leisurely forest bathing walk on the elevated forest trails in the area.
Aside from the glass walkway, other attractions in Mt. Camisong Forest Park include Dagitab, an amphitheater that serves as a venue for performances by local and visiting talents. There's also the Marahuyo Cafe, where you can grab snacks or a warm drink while enjoying the views.
Starting February 15, more activities will be available to the public. Outdoorsy guests can enjoy the Alpas trail where they can go on a forest adventure on the marked hiking and mountain biking trails within the property.
More than just being another viewpoint up in the mountains, Mt. Camisong Forest Park is dedicated to preserving the beauty of nature and sharing Cordilleran heritage.
"At Mt. Camisong, we aim to protect the natural beauty of our surroundings while fostering a space for the community to engage with nature," the park says in a post on its social media pages.
