It’s no secret that a designer bag is one of the most fashionable investments a woman can make, especially since it can stand the test of time. In fact, several celebrities who shared their impeccable collections of luxury handbags can attest that it’s worth the splurge.
For Beauty Gonzalez, however, buying designer items isn’t her cup of tea. “I’m not into designer bags. I really like tote bags, I’m a fan of museum bags,” she tells Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph).
Now, that’s not to say Beauty doesn’t have the means to splurge on luxury, mind you! After all, she is also one of the most popular actresses of her generation. But according to her, she simply prefers practicality.
“It's just too much for me for a bag. I like it if namana ko from someone [rather] than buying it for myself,” she says. “I don't like bags na takot ako madumihan. I don't like bags na takot ako ilagay sa lapag. I like something na I can use everywhere.”
While the actress isn’t really brand-conscious, she admits that her guilty pleasures include investing in art pieces and collecting tote bags.
“Hindi ako maluho sa gamit eh. Mas maluho ako sa paintings, antiques. All of my money goes there,” she shares. "Even here, yung mga [tote bags] sa Artwork, nakapila na ako doon. I’m all cliché already with all those designer bags. A bag should be put anywhere, I don’t want to protect it from dirt or anything, di ba? Parang hassle pa.”
