Yasmien Kurdi and Bea Alonzo play sisters Ina and Dani in the Philippine adaptation of the hit K-drama Start-Up, but did you know that they were also thought to be related in real life because of their striking resemblance? For so many years now, the two actresses would often be dubbed as lookalikes. In fact, Yasmien even recalls a time when Donita Rose had mistaken her for the One More Chance star!
“[Sabi niya] ‘Uy, I watched your movie.’ Sabi ko, ‘What movie? Wala naman akong movie.’ Akala niya si Bea!” Yasmien revealed during Start-Up PH’s media conference in September this year. “Yung time na ‘yon hanggang ngayon, talagang akala niya. Sabi niya, ‘Sorry talaga. Akala ko ikaw si Bea dahil nga sa resemblance niyo.’”

ICYDK, they were classmates in high school along with Kapamilya actress Shaina Magdayao. “Yung first time na nakita ko si Bea was way back before pa ng StarStruck. Nung high school, magkaklase kami,” Yasmien tells Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph), albeit revealing that they would seldom see each other at school because Bea was under the “Home Study” program.
“Meron kaming isang klase, kaklase din namin si Shaina. Di kami nag-mi-meet sa school kasi hindi kami [sumasakto] sa schedule [ng isa’t isa].”
Now, the three actresses have established successful careers in the showbiz industry. Shaina and Bea were co-stars in the iconic 2013 film Four Sisters and a Wedding, while Bea and Yasmien are currently starring together in Start-Up PH. Who knows, maybe in the future we'll have a Shaina, Bea, and Yasmien project in the works, too!
