Dropping a surprise announcement on Instagram, the actress reveals the details of their engagement along with a series of romantic black and white photos with a heartfelt caption. "07.18.23 Sunset. It was a balmy afternoon in Las Casas. I was there for a shoot, but little did I know that the next thing that would happen would change our lives forever," Bea wrote.
In the photos, a shocked Bea can be seen all glammed up and swathed in an elegant black column gown during what seemed to be an ongoing pictorial. Detailing the tear-jerking moment Dominic popped the question in the middle of a shoot, she shared how renowned photographer Mark Nicdao asked her to turn around to take a snap of the back of her dress. Intrigued by the unusual request, she complied, only to find her longtime beau kneeling behind her, holding a box.
"You see, I have done so many proposal scenes in my entire career, but nothing beats the real thing," Bea shared. "I have been doing it all wrong! Hahaha, Dom said his speech, and it’s like time stood still. Everything went in slow motion. And I felt different emotions all at the same time—joy, excitement, love."
Overwhelmed with happiness, the actress admitted to shedding tears of joy during the proposal, playfully encouraging her followers to swipe to see her "ugly cry." The moment seemed like a perfect blend of real-life romance and the magic Bea has portrayed on screen throughout her illustrious career.
"But I didn't want that moment to end," Bea continued. "I want this real thing to happen forever... And right then there... In front of the people we love, we decided on forever."
Fans and friends of the couple flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, expressing their excitement and well-wishes for the newly engaged pair. Among them are fellow celebrities including Heart Evangelista, Andrea Brillantes, Anne Curtis, and Vice Ganda.
Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque have been dating for over two years before their engagement announcement. They went public with their relationship in July 2021.
