Bea Alonzo is booked and busy. The actress-vlogger-entrepreneur is currently starring in the Philippine remake of the hit K-Drama Start-Up alongside Alden Richards. The ongoing adaptation is Bea's first official project with GMA-7. Here, she plays the role of Dani, the local counterpart of K-Drama star Bae Suzy's character, Seo Dal-mi.
"I'm a fan. I watched Start-Up, 'yung Korean version, when I was locked up in my house nung pandemic," Bea revealed in the latest episode of Summit Sessions, where she answered a bunch of questions from Summit Media brands.
Initially, the actress admitted that she was nervous to take on the role: "When I accepted the role of Bae Suzy, medyo nakaka-pressure. [People were] quite disappointed nung nalaman nila it's me who's doing it. Of course, it's understandable but I took it as a challenge. Now that they're watching it, I could see sa mga comments that they had a change of heart na they actually like it," she shared. "We kind of put a unique Filipino [spin] to [the hit K-drama.]"
"It's not a spoof. It's not a parody. It's my own interpretation of the character," she added.
