Luxury real estate experts at RubyHome have crunched the numbers and come up with an eye-popping valuation for the famous DreamHouse. The pink paradise is estimated to be worth a whopping $10 million, which is approximately P555,320,000. That's equivalent to $2,880 per square foot (approx. P159,932), which is over three times the average price of homes in Malibu.
To arrive at this impressive figure, the experts at RubyHome compared the DreamHouse to similar homes in the area, factoring in its unique amenities and allure.
The 3,500-square-foot pink palace, as the public has seen, comes with all the bells and whistles. The DreamHouse boasts a stunning swimming pool, breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, and an interior designed by the renowned Jonathan Adler, complete with fabulous Barbie furniture. The mansion is aptly described as “a life-size toy pink mansion placed perfectly above the beach, with panoramic views."
According to RubyHome's research, similar homes in the area, with comparable locations, pools, and views, are typically priced around $9.1 million (approx. P505.3 million). But given the DreamHouse's iconic status and the cultural significance of Barbie, its value skyrockets to an astonishing $10 million. That's almost three times the average home value in Malibu.
For those curious about the potential income of such a property, if Barbie were to rent it out, she could expect to earn an estimated $77,412 per month (approx. P4.2 million). Of course, there are closing costs to consider as well, estimated at around $780,000 (approx. P43.3 million) if she were to sell.
To call this DreamHouse your own, you'd need a minimum annual income of $2 million (approx. P111 million) and a 20% down payment.
While the chance to book a stay at Barbie's DreamHouse is undoubtedly thrilling, it's important to note that this property is privately owned and not currently up for sale. However, Airbnb has curated a once-in-a-lifetime experience for four lucky guests for a one-night stay for two on July 21 and 22, when they’ll be able to experience this lavish pink-hued home at its finest. Definitely dreamy!
