Rattan has been having a resurgence these past months, which is definitely good news for our local suppliers. It’s a great material to make furniture pieces from, as The Spruce notes, it is "lightweight and almost impervious and is easy to move and handle. It can withstand extreme conditions of humidity and temperature and has a natural resistance to insects." Rattan offers a tropical feel as well as the nostalgic appeal of afternoons in your lola’s house—both of which are much needed during these unprecedented times.
Creating a relaxing nook on your patio or in your garden can help make cocooning much more pleasant. On Instagram, plantita Aubrey Miles recently shared her "Mother Plant Finds" from Adorno, a Cebu-based home décor shop that specializes in rattan products. Aubrey unwrapped a beautifully-woven set of five chairs and a coffee table.
You can check out Adorno on Instagram. In the meantime, here a few chair picks from them that we love:
Corazon Grand Peacock Chair (P12,500)
Rhodoro Egg Chair (P5950)
Felicia Accent Chair (P4500)
El Pavo Chair (P3800)
Evelyn Rattan Rocking Chair (P3700)
