It was around this time last year that famed Japanese café % Arabica closed their shops without a formal announcement. Eventually they did give us closure, posting a statement on social media that they'd "agreed not to continue the collaboration" with their then-Philippine partner. Cue heartbreak for regulars.
That former Philippine partner has since moved on to open their own coffee shop. But the fun is just getting started, it seems, as we move onto the new arc in the series: % Arabica has announced that they'll be making a comeback with soon-to-open stores in BGC.

"Manila, we will restart our project this year with these stores," reads an Instagram post from the coffee shop's international handle, @arabica.journal. "This is a sneak preview of our upcoming stores in BGC, opening in 2023." Attached in the post is this photo:
Fingers crossed this'll push through—and that it won't be long before we can get our % Arabica fix after a year! In the meantime, it doesn't hurt to give their Philippine leg's Instagram a follow.
% Arabica is a coffee shop hailing from Kyoto.
