His family released a statement to CNN on Monday, saying, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”
The official Twitter account of Euphoria also released a statement: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time,” it reads.

10 Things to Know About the Late "Euphoria" Actor Angus Cloud
1. He didn’t want people knowing his birthday.
According to Google, Angus’ birthday is on July 10, 1998, which would make him a Cancer. But in an interview with Glamour he refused to tell people his birthday in fear of being judged for his zodiac sign.
2. He was discovered on the streets of Brooklyn.
In the age of social media, it's rare to hear stories of actors being discovered by casting scouts on the streets, but Angus was one of those rare discoveries. He shared in an interview with i-D that when he was being scouted by an agent on the streets, he thought it was a scam, but turns out the agent was legitimate, and before he knew it he was on the set of Euphoria as Fezco and on his way to stardom.
Fezco was a definite crowd favorite on the show, thanks to his sweet nature and loveable attitude–albeit being a drug dealer–he was one of the few people that you couldn’t find a reason to hate.
3. He went to the same highschool as Zendaya.
Both Angus and his Euphoria co-star, the award-winning actress, Zendaya, went to the same performing arts high school, the Oakland School for the Arts. While Zendaya was there to study dancing, Angus mainly worked behind the scenes, building sets, fixing the lights, along with other production tasks.
4. He never had ambitions of becoming a celebrity.
Despite becoming one of the most well known faces of this generation, Angus revealed in an interview that he never had ambitions of becoming famous. While everyone else was working hard to get noticed, his fame landed upon him mainly by chance. He just thought that the role was too good an opportunity to pass, but he never expected it to get him to the level of fame he achieved.
5. He loved his privacy.
The actor previously admitted that he didn’t entirely enjoy fame, especially when people would run up to him and shove cameras in his face. He said that he loved when people asked him for his autograph but he’d rather keep a lowkey profile. “I’d rather people didn’t recognize me. I’m not mad at them because they do, but I’d rather they didn’t. I just want to have regular interactions with people. I don’t want to be treated special,” he told Interview magazine.
6. He was a fashion icon.
One look at his Instagram account and you could clearly see that Angus had a great sense of fashion on and off the red carpet. He would attend fashion shows, model for designer brands such as Ralph Lauren, and even land the covers of fashion magazines.
7. He loved to direct and edit the rap videos of his friends.
On his personal Youtube account, you’ll find the music videos of Angus’ friends which he directed and edited.
8. He broke his skull when he was a kid.
Euphoria spoiler alert: in the show there was an episode where they explained the backstory of how Fezco got his scar. In the show his on-screen grandmother accidentally hit him in the head with a crowbar after he tried to stop her from assaulting another person. Well, the scar is real and the true story behind it is just as horrifying, maybe even more, than the fictional version.
When he was 14 he fell into a construction pit and broke his skull in the process, he had to climb out the pit himself after being passed out for 12 hours. He miraculously saved himself and was able to ride a bus home, after which his mom brought him to the hospital where they had to operate on his skull to stop the internal bleeding.
9. He worked at a chicken and waffles spot in Brooklyn.
Before being discovered on the streets of Brooklyn, Angus worked at a chicken-and-waffles restaurant. At the time he had never considered acting to be his career.
