In the landscape of local showbiz, being part of a love team is one surefire way of being a household name—whether you've got years of experience as a child actress or are a relative newcomer. While it's certainly one way to become successful, celebs that are part of one can often feel like they're "tied down" to it and can find it challenging to explore other roles.

Recently, however, more and more celebs have spoken up about "getting out" of their love team phase, with Gen Z it-girl Andrea Brillantes being the latest to share her thoughts on the matter. In a recent interview, the Drag You & Me star expressed her happiness at finally getting her first solo project.

"I think this is the start kasi ito yung show ko na wala talaga akong love team and official show ko ito na nakalabas na ako sa love team ko," she revealed.

The 20-year-old actress added: "Clear din naman sa management na gusto ko mag-take ng ibang roles. Actually, parang naging mutual agreement na din siya na 'yun din ang gusto ng management for me na may solo career na din ako and di na din ako mag-la-love team."

According to her, she finds more freedom in acting when she is not tied down to a love team. "Honestly na-e-enjoy ko din 'yun and mas free lang ako makagawa ng mga ganitong klaseng roles and it’s fun. Sa magiging next show ko din, iba din yung atake so I’m so excited and hopeful for that," she divulged.

Andrea was in a love team with fellow Gen Z star Seth Fedelin, with whom she starred in several successful projects such as Kadenang Ginto and Lyric and Beat
