All of Us Are Dead is officially coming back for a second season!
Netflix announced the news today, June 7, with a zombie-infested poster and a special announcement from the cast. The clip includes lead stars Yoon Chan Young, Park Ji Hoo, Cho Yi Hyun, and Park Solomon taking videos of themselves while thanking the fans for their support.
All of Us Are Dead is one of the only two Korean dramas in Netflix’s "Top 10 most popular non-English TV shows." The other being the global phenomenon Squid Game.
As per the streamer, the zombie thriller “shot straight into the top 10 most watched non-English TV series in a staggering 91 countries,” right after its premiere. It also garnered a whopping 361 million viewing hours in its first 10 days across 12 episodes.
To catch you up, the first season concluded with only six students having survived the zombie apocalypse that left their school in ruins and all of their friends, well…dead. Upon returning to their school’s rooftop, they’re relieved to find that Nam-ra, their half-zombie class president, is still alive. She tells them that there are more like her who escaped the school bombing, before leaving her classmates behind when she hears the sounds of the undead below.
There’s no word yet on Lee Cheong-san’s status, but considering his actor, Yoon Chan Young, was part of the announcement video, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we'll get to see him alive and well in the upcoming installment.
Suffice to say, we'll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more season two updates!
