Referencing vintage sports ads and editorials, the Preview May 2024 cover shoot saw Alden Richards exude suavity and nostalgia as he interacted with the set dressed in designer clothing from Gucci, Maison Margiela, Kenzo, Wales Bonner, and Proudrace, as well as the latest pieces from athletic brand Adidas. It was the eclectic grandpa's sartorial take on the retro sports aesthetic, and Alden gamely took on the assignment.
Alden's go-to for grooming, Arvie Matibag, was tasked to channel the dapperness of eras past. He backcombed the leading man's hair and kept his skin naturally sunkissed.
Behind the lens was London-based photographer Karl King Aguña, who is best known for capturing moody and raw images that still feel very dynamic. His signature photography style was the perfect fit to achieve the creative vision for the shoot.
Cover story writer and Preview Content Creator for Entertainment Em Enriquez talks about how Alden "has all the traits and qualities you look for in a textbook leading man." Going beyond physical attributes, Em shares about the Hello, Love, Goodbye actor, "He's really charming. Kinakausap ka niya in a way na feel mo matagal na kayong magkakilala. And I think that's really one of the things that gave him the longevity he has today."
"It was a really hot day, but Alden was a real trooper," adds Paulina Singh, Preview Editorial Assistant for Fashion, who helped dress Alden for the cover shoot.
