Good news, francophiles! Direct flights from Manila to Paris may finally happen soon, according to Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista. Grab your passports and review your travelgram pegs, because a renewed partnership in aviation between the Philippines and France was formalized in Makati City last September 3.

According to reports, the transport agency is expected to announce details "in a few weeks."
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) General Captain Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo also revealed that they had already approved Air France, France's flag carrier, to mount the direct flight.
"Frequency is three to four times weekly. [CAAP and MIAA] already approved it, but of course, I couldn't speak on behalf of the Civil Aeronautics Board," the director told the Philippine News Agency.
